Lighting Designer - Galatea by john lyly
This is a paid position. The stipend for this position is $500.
Theatre Prometheus seeks a dramaturg for their Spring 2025 production of Galatea by John Lyly.
If a boy falls in love with another boy in the forest, but the boy is actually a girl dressed as a boy so she doesn't get sacrificed to Neptune, but the other boy is ALSO a girl dressed as a boy so SHE doesn't get sacrificed to Neptune, and unbeknownst to them they're both the subject of some Cupid-Venus-Diana god trickery, and in the end both of them are fine with one of them ACTUALLY becoming a boy if it means they can be together forever... is it really gay? Probably, but find out for sure in GALATEA!
What you’ll do:
The lighting designer is ultimately responsible for developing designs in a collaborative process with the artistic team that falls within budget, timeline, and other resource parameters, providing design packages by deadlines to industry leading standards, as well as working to integrate discoveries made during rehearsals (to the extent that budget and time allow) and notes throughout the process until the show opens. We are seeking someone collaborative and interested in collaboration and co-creation.
