production associate

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative Production Associate. The time commitment ranges from 3 to 10 hours a week. This is a volunteer position with the opportunity to be paid, depending on if you work as a Production Manager on a show.

To apply, please send your resume and a brief note expressing your interest to patrick@theatreprometheus.org with the subject line “Production Associate.”

Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with Artistic and Managing Directors on strategic organizational planning

  • Work with production team to manage production and administrative teams of up to 30 individuals, ensuring all action items and projects relating to production are on track

  • Potentially act as point of contact for hiring production staff and venue management

  • Work with HR Director to arrange contracts for production staff, artistic staff, and with venues in which Theatre Prometheus is rehearsing and performing

  • Collaborate closely with other core leadership in carrying out Prometheus’ mission and operations

  • Other tasks as needed

Theatre Prometheus is a small, highly collaborative organization, and everyone pitches in to help other departments when necessary. This also means that if there is a special project you are interested in, you can be part of the team that makes it happen!

Qualifications:

  • At least a year of experience in production management in theaters, ideally with designer and technician contacts in the DC area

  • Collaborative team player

  • Passion for diverse, women-focused theater

Please note that we are not currently able to provide payment for this position. We use our limited funds to pay artists and tech crew, and none of the administrative team takes any compensation. We are eager to work with you to grow our budget so we can change this!

When applying, please keep in mind our mission: to promote diverse, women-focused theatre both by and for the communities we live in.

Theatre Prometheus brings diverse perspectives to the stage - and our administrative team - but we don’t stop there. We proactively ensure that all voices are welcomed. We value the opportunity to work with people of many identities and life experiences in our DC community.
